People are crowding to see a buffalo herd migrating)





The extermination of buffalo herds by EuroAmericans meant the death of the  Plains Indians tribes. 

The buffalo was at the centre of Plains Indians' way of life. 
Without buffalo, life was impossible for them. 

The extermination of buffalos is the death of Plains Indians culture.  


The Buffalo and Plains Indians

The buffalo or bison was THE essential element of Plains Indians' way of life.
 
It was killed when necessary and was a key element of their spirituality, that's why each part of the buffalo was used.
